I've been asked a lot over the last 4 years what my favorite Bible verse is. How does one even begin to pick a favorite verse?! It's amazing how many awesome, quotable verses are in the Bible. I've also been the one asking the question too :) And I'm amazed at the wide variety of answers I've received.
I thought I would think really hard about the verses that mean the most to me...and here they are, in no particular order...
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a bright future." Jeremiah 29:11
This verse really struck me while at youth camp in 2008. It was my first camp EVER. I was never able to attend as a youth, so what better way to experience camp than as a leader. It was a great first camp experience with our teenagers. This was honestly the first time I was drawn to this verse. And I'm SO GLAD I found it :)
"Where you are right now is God's place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. God defines your life." 1 Corinthians 7:17 (MSG)
I came across this verse on the FaceBook page of a co-worker. She was the one who took my position in the youth department when I transfer ed to the preschool. Life was rough for her at the time and I was so impressed with her willingness to surrender all to Jesus. She knew life was not going to be changing anytime soon, but she still had so much faith that God's plan for her life and her career. This verse has changed my life and my outlook on things.
"Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." Hebrews 11:1
Okay, I know I said these were in no particular order, but who was I kidding, this is my favorite verse! In all that we have been through over the last two years trying to have children, this verse has really helped me keep my sanity. Without faith, I have no idea where I'd be. And I'm sure every Christian on God's green (or brown in AZ!) earth would say the same...we need FAITH!
Much Love,
Becky
