Buddy & I were at Big Lots today and the Salvation Army Santa kept trying to talk to us. At first I was annoyed. Couldn't he see that I was carry a heavy baby and was struggling to find a dry cart? And honestly, I couldn't understand a word coming out of his mouth. Then he handed me a card and it had a Bible verse on it. He must have thought I was a non-Christian by my smirk so he went on to tell us "the reason for the season" and how Santa was not THE reason. I told him that we celebrate the birth of Jesus and I could tell how happy that made him.
This random guy was exactly who I needed to talk to today. I have been struggling with everyone's obsession with "things" this year. Even the commercials on TV are driving me nuts this year! It was nice to see someone standing up for what they believe in.
