{One Year Later}

I can't believe that one year ago, my sweet friend Amanda had a massive stroke {you can read her story HERE} that changed her life forever. She was the strongest, most independent, take-on-the-world kind of girl and her world came crashing down in an instant. Why? Why did God choose her? Did He choose her because she is a natural fighter? He knew she wouldn't give up. And by choosing her, so many people's lives have been changed. I know mine has - I no longer take things for granted. When I'm sick and having a pity party, I think of Amanda. I think of her struggling trying to take care of her 4 kids, the baby inside her tummy, being a wife to an amazing man, all while learning to read and walk. It honestly humbles me.

Looking back at the pictures of her in the hospital bring back some memories that I'd soon like to forget. I don't want to remember my friend like that. I want to remember her as the "super mom" that she was - that she STILL IS.

I know she won't know why this happened to her until she gets to Heaven, but I pray that God uses this as a way to teach people about Jesus and help others be thankful for their health.
