{Summertime}

What a whirlwind of a summer so far! I am exhausted and summer doesn't even officially begin until tomorrow!!! So far I've gone to youth camp for 5 days, took a trip to San Diego for 2 days, Matt is preparing to officiate his best friends wedding next weekend and our Michigan trip is a few days after that. All this is on top of the endless visits & phone calls about our kitchen repair (from the fire we had on Mother's Day). I honestly can't wait for our trip because all the kitchen junk should be behind us by then (praying we are done with it!!!) so we can relax and enjoy time with our sweet little nephew, Waylon Thomas. Waylon was born on 6.12.13, on his grandpa Tom's birthday (that and ONLY THAT is where his middle name comes from, he is definitely NOT named after my dad!). What a cool birthday present for Papa Tom.

 

Youth Camp was a blast! It was my 3rd camp as a leader and I absolutely loved it!!! It was by far my favorite camp leader experience! Not only did I have great girls in my cabin, I was surrounded by amazing leaders which made the experience that much better. The only bad part about camp, besides the obvious of being away from my boys, was the food - it was delicious, that's the problem. I ate way too much up there!!!

 

San Diego was SO much fun! We went to LEGOLAND on Monday & Tuesday and Isaac was such a happy camper. He loves legos, so we figured it would be a cool place to take him. He wasn't able to go on many rides, mainly because he was too scared, so we think he'll have a better time next summer. We stayed with a friend of Matt's that had rented a beach house on Mission Beach. HOLY BAJEEBERS was it nice!!! I can't wait until next summer - we will be staying there again!!! Isaac was obsessed with the beach and wanted to spend every moment there :) Can't wait to bring him to Lake Michigan again and let him play in the sand!

 

Overall our summer has been great, busy, but great! Can't wait to share about our upcoming trip!!!
